Questions people ask before applying

Do I need WSDC points?
No. We ask for your level so we can judge whether the event makes sense for you, not to filter anyone out. A Newcomer going to their first big event is a perfectly good application.
How much can I ask for?
Ask for the real gap between what the weekend costs and what you can cover. There is no fixed cap, but partial grants are the norm and we will publish the first ones so you can calibrate. Asking for less than you need does not help – you would still not get there.
How and when is the money paid?
Where possible we pay the organiser or the booking directly – pass, flight, hotel – so you never have to front the money. If that is not possible, we transfer the grant to you against the quotes you sent. Nothing is paid after the event for costs you already had.
Can I apply for a partner or a group?
Each dancer applies individually, but tell us in the motivation if you travel together – shared rooms and cars make the numbers better for everyone.
What do you expect afterwards?
A short report – a few paragraphs about how it went – and a clip we may share on the channels and on this site. Your name is published with the grant only if you agree.
What happens to my data?
Your application is e-mailed to the team and stored on our server until the decision is made and the grant is settled – at most two years. Details in the privacy notice.
